The Andy's Charitable Foundation has awarded a $2,000 grant to Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne.

Habitat, one of over 35 recipients of Andy's Foundation grants this year, focuses on providing opportunities for affordable housing to low-to moderate-income families in Wayne County. In addition to building homes for first-time homeowners, Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne started their A Brush with Kindness program in 2018, which completes small, exterior projects that can help extend the life of a home and improve the family’s quality of life.

Matthew Whittle, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne, had this to say of their Andy’s Charitable Foundation grant: “We at Habitat Goldsboro-Wayne are excited to receive this grant award from the Andy’s Foundation. These funds will help us improve our construction site safety and efficiency for both our staff and volunteers as we continue to build homes, community, and hope in Wayne County. The Foundation has long been a great supporter of community efforts and we’re honored to be selected as a recipient for 2019.”

We know Habitat will continue to achieve amazing things in 2020, and we are proud to help them.

About Andy's Charitable Foundation:

Named after our original restaurants—Andy's Cheesesteaks and Cheeseburgers—the Andy’s Charitable Foundation is our most visible commitment to community involvement. In 2000, Hwy 55 president and founder Kenney Moore began a golf tournament to support local charities. After several successful years, that golf tournament became a foundation to better serve a larger number of organizations within the operational area of our backyards. The Andy's Charitable Foundation made its first contributions in November of 2006 and has raised over $2 million to date. Our frontline employees raise the bulk of this money in our stores through bake sales, car washes, and other creative endeavors.
