Andy’s Foundation Makes Donations to 36 Organizations in 2019

The Andy’s Charitable Foundation — the charitable arm of Hwy 55 — has just wrapped up another fantastic year of giving. In total, 36 different organizations have benefited in 2019.

With a dedicated board of unpaid individuals, the Andy’s Charitable Foundation has once again fulfilled its mission: to impact our communities in a positive way.

As board member April Dennis puts it, “We are so happy to be able to give back to organizations that we know will make a true impact on their community. This is why we do what we do.”

Children’s organizations continue to be a mainstay of giving for our foundation, and notable recipients this year include Make-A-Wish of Eastern North Carolina, Miracle League, and Special Olympics NC.

None of this would be possible without the diligent fundraising efforts of our employees and the generosity of our guests. Many of you will have seen the many creative ways we raise money in our stores; from bake sales to car washes to freeing someone taped to a chair, our employees genuinely enjoy spreading our love and culture in this way. We sincerely and wholeheartedly thank every person who gave anything this year. We go to great lengths to ensure your donation will make a direct impact on those who need it the most.

From Hwy 55 president and founder Kenney Moore: “I cannot stress this enough. 100% of the donation you gave will go directly to those who need it most. Families will have Christmas presents under the tree this year. Children will go home from school with food for the weekend. These are things that your donation led to. Thank you.”

About Andy’s Charitable Foundation:

Named after our original restaurants—Andy's Cheesesteaks and Cheeseburgers—the Andy’s Charitable Foundation is our most visible commitment to community involvement. In 2000, Hwy 55 president and founder Kenney Moore began a golf tournament to support local charities. After several successful years, that golf tournament became a foundation to better serve a more significant number of organizations within the operational area of our backyards. The Andy's Charitable Foundation made its first contributions in November of 2006 and has raised over $2 million to date. Our frontline employees raise the bulk of this money in our stores through bake sales, car washes, and other creative endeavors.
